Elise Stefanik (R-NY) said she would demand reforms and transparency if confirmed to become the next U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, vowing to ensure the organization “serves the interests” of the United States during her confirmation hearing before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee on Tuesday.

During her Senate confirmation hearing, President Trump’s pick for ambassador to the United Nations said she was willing to leverage U.S. contributions to force changes in pursuit of his “America First” agenda.
